Ramadan Peace Report: Jumma Prayers Across India Seek Calm Amid Middle East Conflict

Across India, Muslims gathered for Jumma prayers today as the holy month of Ramadan nears its conclusion, offering heartfelt prayers for peace amid escalating tensions in the Middle East. While Eid-ul-Fitr approaches next week in India, several countries are already observing Ramadan’s farewell, and worshippers are praying for the safety of civilians and religious leaders affected by ongoing conflicts in Iran and surrounding regions. In Delhi’s Karbala Jor Bagh, congregants displayed posters denouncing perceived aggression by Israel and the U.S., while also commemorating Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and other leaders, praying for their protection. In LUCKNOW, Hyderabad, and Muradabad, prominent community figures including Asaduddin Owaisi joined prayers, emphasizing unity and non-violence. Worshippers expressed concern over global instability and local crises, such as gas shortages affecting daily life. Imams delivering sermons focused on encouraging peace, tolerance, and prayers for a world free from war. The collective message across mosques highlighted that while international conflicts continue, communities in India aspire to maintain harmony, uphold solidarity, and send spiritual support to those impacted worldwide. Jumma prayers served as both spiritual observance and a call for calm, reflecting a society’s desire for tranquility in troubled times.
