‘Pennu Case’ OTT release: Where to stream comedy film

'Pennu Case' OTT release: Where to watch Nikhila Vimal's comedy entertainer online

The Malayalam comedy-drama ‘Pennu Case,’ now streaming on Amazon Prime Video, tells the story of a con woman who marries multiple men across states. Her elaborate deception unravels at a wedding when over ten grooms arrive to expose her. Despite a compelling premise, the film received mixed reviews for its execution.

The Malayalam comedy drama ‘Pennu Case’ has finally arrived on OTT after its theatrical run earlier this year. The film stars Nikhila Vimal in the lead role and is directed by debutant Febin Sidharth. The movie hit theatres on January 10, 2026. and had opened to mixed reactions from audiences and critics and after a long wait, the film has now made its digital debut.

Story inspired by real-life incidents

‘Pennu Case’ is loosely inspired by real-life incidents and the film blends elements of crime and comedy to tell an unusual story about deception and identity. The narrative revolves around a con woman played by Nikhila Vimal who defrauds several men across Kerala and Karnataka by posing as a bride under multiple identities. Her elaborate scheme begins to collapse when she gets caught during one of her attempts and this incident triggers a police investigation. As the case unfolds, several shocking details about her operation begin to surface.

A wedding that turns into chaos

The film’s plot takes an interesting turn during a wedding sequence that becomes the central conflict of the story. More than ten men walk into Suresh’s long-awaited wedding ceremony with a common purpose. They want to expose the bride. The woman has allegedly deceived each of them by marrying them earlier under different identities. The men are members of a WhatsApp group called Men’s Army. They arrive at the wedding to confront the bride and reveal the truth. As the story progresses, more men start arriving and each of them claims to be her husband. Interested in the plot? Stream the film on Amazon Prime Video to know what happens later on.

Critical response to the film

When the film released in theatres, it received mixed reviews from critics. Many felt that the story had an interesting premise but failed to fully explore its potential. Our ETimes review stated, “A film does not become women-centric simply because a woman occupies the central role or gets more screen time. Pennu Case fails to meaningfully explore its female character or offer any strong commentary on relationships or deception. Overall, ‘Pennu Case’ is a missed opportunity. An interesting idea is let down by poor writing, weak performances and flawed technical execution. An underwhelming watch that struggles to rise above its shortcomings.”Apart from Nikhila Vimal, the film also features a supporting cast of popular Malayalam actors that includes Aju Varghese, Ramesh Pisharody, and Praveen Raja in key roles.
