Hilal Isar Khan steps down as CIO at Honda Cars India

Hilal Isar Khan has stepped down from his role as Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Vice President – Operating Head (IT) at Honda Cars India Ltd, according to ETCIO.

Khan had been associated with Honda Cars India for more than two decades, joining the company in April 2001, where he led the organisation’s corporate IT strategy, digital transformation initiatives and enterprise technology planning.

During his tenure, he was responsible for leveraging emerging technologies to support business transformation, working closely with executive leadership and business teams to enhance operational efficiency, productivity and customer-focused digital capabilities.

Before joining Honda Cars India, Khan served as Senior Business Consultant at Global IT Options Ltd, a consulting firm funded and managed by the DCM Group, between 1999 and 2001.

Earlier in his career, he worked as Assistant Manager – Information Technology at Daewoo Motors India Ltd, where he was involved in enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementation. He began his career as an IT executive at DCM Toyota Ltd.

Khan holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Sardar Patel College of Communication and Management and completed a CIO Certification Course at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, focusing on transitioning from information management to innovation leadership.

During his tenure at Honda Cars India, Khan played a key role in driving IT-led transformation across the company’s operations, including modernising enterprise systems and adopting digital technologies to support evolving mobility and customer engagement strategies.
