Gulf War Flash: Iran strikes regional oil hubs after US-Israel raids spark wider conflict

The Middle East conflict has taken a dangerous regional turn as Iran launched a wave of retaliatory attacks across neighboring Gulf states following joint strikes by United States and Israel on Iranian strategic sites. The escalation comes shortly after Tehran announced a new supreme leadership structure, triggering intensified military responses across the region. One of the most significant incidents involved an attack near the Bapco Refinery in Bahrain, a major oil processing hub capable of refining nearly 400,000 barrels of crude per day. The refinery is considered a key energy facility for Gulf oil exports, handling supplies from multiple regional producers. Analysts warn that strikes on such infrastructure could disrupt energy markets worldwide. At the same time, regional defenses were activated in Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates after drones were detected approaching oil installations. Meanwhile, drones reportedly targeted U.S.-linked facilities in Erbil, where American military presence remains significant. Iran’s military arm, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, also claimed a drone strike in Tel Aviv that allegedly damaged a satellite communications center. As attacks expand beyond Iran and Israel, fears are growing that the conflict could spiral into a full-scale regional war impacting global energy security and international alliances.
