As per the reports, the actor suffered a cardiac arrest while he was sleeping at his home in Kolkata. Tamal Roy Choudhury was known as a character actor in the Bengali film industry. He featured in popular Bengali movies like ‘Challenge’, ‘Le Halua Le’, ‘Bindass’, ‘Amazon Obhijaan’, and ‘Chander Pahar’. He also starred in arthouse films such as ‘Jatiswar’ and ‘Gorosthane Sabdhan’. In ‘The Namesake’, directed by Mira Nair, Tamal Roy Choudhury played the role of Irrfan Khan’s father.
