Starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Deepika Padukone alongside him, the film ranks among the top-grossing Telugu movies ever. During a recent interview, filmmaker-actor Yugi Sethu claimed Kamal Haasan is India’s highest-paid actor, disclosing his massive paycheck for the project. Reportedly, Kamal Haasan received a staggering paycheck for his role as Supreme Yaskin in the sci-fi blockbuster. According to Sethu, Ulaganayagan was paid Rs. 150 crore, and while the figure itself is massive, the shoot’s efficiency makes it historic.

Kamal Haasan’s role in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’

Speculation swirls around Haasan’s exact pay for his ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ role. Some outlets report Rs 20 crore, while others peg it above Rs 100 crore. In the film, Kamal portrayed Supreme Yaskin, a tyrannical god-king lording over the Complex. Even with brief on-screen time, his character drives the plot significantly. The movie closes with teases of a bigger part for him in the sequel.

Kamal Haasan’s upcoming projects

Amitabh and Kamal are back on set for ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ Part 2. Back in February, Amitabh posted hug pics on his blog: “meeting up with the great KAMAL HAASAN … we shall be working together after ages .. last in Giraftar .. Kalki 2 begun the work.” Kamal’s slate is packed: starring with Rajinikanth in Nelson Dilipkumar’s untitled flick (post-‘Jailer’), a project with Anbarivu duo, producing Cibi Chakaravathi’s Rajinikanth film, and Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon by Sivakumar Murugesan. Fans went wild for the Kamal-Rajini announcement video celebrating their epic reunion, though it faced backlash over scenes with scantily clad women ogling the duo. Meanwhile, Anirudh Ravichander scored the film’s music.DISCLAIMER: Figures presented in this article are derived from various public sources and are considered approximate unless explicitly noted.
