Trisha’s old marriage interview goes viral again

Trisha’s old interview on marriage resurfaces after viral appearance with Vijay at Chennai wedding: 'Want to fall in LOVE'

In a throwback interview from ten years ago, Trisha Krishnan shared her thoughtful perspective on marriage, highlighting her choice for companionship over conforming to societal expectations. She candidly remarked on her intention to steer clear of divorce and unhappiness, claiming she’d contemplate ‘100 times’ before taking the plunge.

Social media is abuzz as a decade-old interview of Trisha Krishnan has resurfaced, sparking intense conversation about her personal life. The clip began trending shortly after the actress made a high-profile appearance alongside actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay at a star-studded wedding reception in Chennai on March 5, 2026.

Trisha Krishnan shares her thoughts on marriage

In a throwback interview from 2016 with Indiaglitz, Trisha Krishnan shared her thoughts on marriage. The ‘Thug Life’ actress calmly stated that getting married is not a primary concern for her. She also shared that she would prefer to be single rather than get married, which could lead to separation.”I want to feel whether this is the person I can live with for the rest of my life because I don’t believe in divorce. I don’t want to go in for a divorce when I get married and I’m someone who will,” she said.

She explained that she wants to feel confident that the person she chooses is someone she can live with for the rest of her life. “I don’t believe in divorce… I will think 100 times before marriage. I don’t want to end up hurting someone else or living an unhappy life,” the ‘Vidaamuyarchi’ actress added.

Trisha Krishnan on looking for companionship over pressure

The ‘Good Ugly Bad’ actress also addressed that she wants a partner with whom she can find companionship and emotional security. These points are more important to her than the societal pressure to get married. Having seen many couples stay in a marriage due to family expectations, societal pressure and norms, the ‘Ponniyin Selvan: I’ actress realized she should not enter a marriage for the wrong reasons.Krishnan added, “I know tons of married couples around me who are in it for all the wrong reasons. They are extremely unhappy…I don’t want to be in such a marriage. I want to fall in love. Marriage is secondary, but I definitely want to meet my companion… that I’m very particular about. I don’t want to end up divorced, I don’t want to end up hurting someone else or living an unhappy life so I will think about it 100 times before I do it.”
