Vinfast has appointed Anurag Saxena as Deputy CEO of its India operations, strengthening the Vietnamese electric vehicle maker’s leadership team as it accelerates its market-entry strategy in the country.

Saxena announced the move in a LinkedIn post on Thursday, stating that he looks forward to contributing to innovation, operational excellence and sustainable growth in India’s evolving automotive market.

“I’m delighted to step into the role of Deputy CEO at VinFast Auto India. India represents a dynamic and evolving automotive landscape, and I look forward to contributing to innovation, operational excellence, and sustainable growth,” Saxena said.

He added that he is excited about the opportunities ahead as the company expands its presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing mobility markets.

Vast experience in auto industry
Before joining VinFast, Saxena spent nearly 23 years with Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), where he held multiple leadership roles across sales, strategy and business development.

Most recently, he served as Operating Officer from April 2024 to February 2026, overseeing core business functions including business development, product strategy, marketing, electrification, network expansion and sales digitisation for the company’s two-wheeler portfolio.

In that role, he led more than 135 teams across six divisions and played a key role in shaping the company’s medium-term strategy. Saxena was also involved in advancing HMSI’s electrification roadmap, including the launch of the company’s first EV concept store in Bengaluru in June 2025 and the development of a scalable EV network strategy.

Prior to that, he served as Regional Business Head (General Manager) for North India from 2021 to 2024, managing operations across markets including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir. During his tenure, the region reported around 30 per cent volume growth and improved its market share from 21 per cent to 28 per cent.

Earlier, as Regional Business Head (Deputy General Manager) for the Central region from 2016 to 2021, Saxena oversaw operations across Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, leading dealer network expansion and driving market share growth.

He began his career with Cosmo Ferrites in international sales before joining Honda.

Saxena holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronics and Telecommunications from Amravati University and an MBA in Marketing and Systems from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya.
