The Rock shares birthday tribute for his late father

Dwyane 'The Rock' Johnson shares heartfelt birthday tribute for his late father Rocky Johnson: 'He raised me with a tough and complex love...'

Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson is one of the artists who is not only loved for his acting or wrestling skills, but for his heart of gold. This mountain of a man never shies away from putting on pink eye shadow when his baby girls (or as he calls them, his little tornadoes) decide to have a tea party with their daddy dearest. Not just this, in a world where several perceive showing their emotional side as a sign of weakness, Dwyane’s heartfelt social media posts are pure gold. An example of the same was seen today, when the wrestler turned actor wrote a birthday note for his late father, Rocky Johson. Read on to see what The Rock said about his relationship with his father.

Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s heartwarming note on his father’s birth anniversary

The ‘Red One’ star shared a series of pictures, in which a few featured just his father, some had the young Rocky with his big man, and the last photo is of Rocky Johnson from the ring. Along with the pictures, Dwyane shared that he is grateful for his father’s love and the lessons he taught him, which made him the man he is today.“Happy Heavenly Birthday Dad 🕊️My dad’s birthday was yesterday, and I thought about him. A lot. I had a good amount of “I wonder if….” thoughts about him and our relationship. He raised me with a tough and complex love,” wrote the ‘Black Adam’ actor before adding, “But at least I had love ya know? I know a lot men in my life, who never had their father’s love at all. Hard to reconcile stuff with your dad when he’s no longer here – but nonetheless, regardless of challenges or any struggle, my dad was a “life adapter”, and he taught me to be the same.” He continued, “Work hard and adapt. I’ll always be grateful for that lesson. Happy Birthday Soulman up there in heaven. You were never shy, so stop by and say hello every once in a while 😉”

Dwyane Johson embracing family heritage and culture

Embracing family values and heritage has always been Dwyane’s priority. Irrespective of his busy schedule, he loves to steal time to have some quality family moments. A couple of days back, he shared a heartfelt cultural experience he had with his family in Hawaii. With an Instagram video, the actor gave a glimpse of himself performing a traditional Samoan dance alongside his mother, Ata Johnson, and his two younger daughters. In the footage, they join a group on stage, surrounded by palm trees and enthusiastic spectators. At one moment, Johnson took off his shirt, honoring Samoan customs, and rhythmically slapped the ground as part of the sacred dance. He mentioned that the performance held significant emotional and cultural meaning for him.Watch the video here: Along with the video, he mentioned, “I was blessed to have this very special moment on stage with my mom, my daughters, and our aiga (family) — dancing our Samoan culture’s sacred dance, the Taualuga. It’s custom for Samoan men to take their shirts off to proudly show our Polynesian tatau (tattoo) and the intricate stories our ink tells. Also custom for Samoan women to lift their lava lavas up to proudly show their beautiful malu (tattoo) on their legs as well. I’m slapping the ground as a way to show my respect for how significant this is and how SACRED our ground becomes in this moment with our elders (and my daughters dancing next to me). It’s emotional. You can’t help but feel it. The mana. Life is busy for everyone – so special moments like this mean the world to me, to honor our family, our culture and always so good coming back home to Hawaii. Yesaah 🤙🏾❤️🌺🥃 Shout to my fam, love you guys and let’s post up again soon!” Go to Source
