Coming to Amazon Prime Video on March 4, 2026: ‘Young Sherlock.’ Hero Fiennes Tiffin leads as a 19-year-old Holmes in Guy Ritchie’s latest, set in 1870s London. ‘Young Sherlock’ is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video on March 4, 2026, offering a fresh look at the famous detective’s early years. The eight-episode series stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin as a 19-year-old Sherlock Holmes and is directed by Guy Ritchie, who also serves as executive producer. The show shifts the focus to Sherlock’s teenage life, long before he became the confident sleuth known from classic stories.According to Panache, The Economic Times, ‘Young Sherlock’ will be available in India and in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. All eight episodes will release on the same day.

‘Young Sherlock’ will premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video on March 4, 2026. Viewers can stream the full season at once. The series marks a new chapter for the character by exploring his formative years in a period setting.Inspired by Andrew Lane’s 2010 novel ‘Young Sherlock Holmes’, the story unfolds in the 1870s at Oxford University. Sherlock is portrayed as impulsive and unpolished. He becomes entangled in a murder case and begins investigating to clear his name. This first major mystery sets the stage for his future as a detective.

As the case deepens, Sherlock uncovers a larger conspiracy that shapes his path. The series also introduces his first encounter with James Moriarty, played by Dónal Finn. It traces the early development of Sherlock’s skills, from martial arts training and violin practice to his first meeting with John Watson.The supporting cast includes Colin Firth as Sir Bucephalus Hodge. Joseph Fiennes and Natascha McElhone play Sherlock’s parents. Max Irons appears as Mycroft Holmes, and Zine Tseng plays Princess Gulun Shou’an.The series is created by Matthew Parkhill, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. It is backed by Motive Pictures. Guy Ritchie directed the first two episodes and remains closely involved with the project.Filming took place across the UK and Spain, including Bristol, Cardiff, London, Somerset, Jerez, and Seville.
