Ideas of India Summit 2026: Gujarat Deputy CM Harsh Sanghavi Says Politics Has Transformed Under PM Modi at Ideas of India Summit

At the ABP Network’s Ideas of India Summit 2026, themed “The New World Order,” Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi delivered a compelling assessment of India’s evolving political landscape. Sanghavi asserted that Indian politics has undergone a fundamental transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, making political entry more accessible than ever before. He emphasized that today, unlike in the past, having a traditional political background is no longer a prerequisite to join public life—any citizen with purpose and zeal can serve the nation. Sanghavi highlighted his own journey and working relationship with Gujarat Chief Minister, noting that he functions in close collaboration with the state leadership. He explained that his participation in the Summit, including travel to Davos, was at the behest of the Chief Minister, underscoring teamwork and shared vision at the core of governance in Gujarat. Turning to law and order, the Deputy CM described the state’s controversial “bulldozer policy” as a necessary approach to protect public safety and maintain social order. He claimed that certain elements seek to destabilize Gujarat by introducing drugs and fomenting disorder, asserting that firm action, including demolition of illegal structures linked to criminal activity, is essential. Sanghavi defended the policy as a deterrent against crime, stressing that law enforcement cannot remain passive when offenders attempt to evade justice. Throughout his address, Sanghavi framed these developments as part of a broader national shift, where governance and politics are increasingly centered on merit, accountability, and public service. His remarks reflected confidence in the current political trajectory and in the nation’s capacity to redefine political participation for a new era.
