In a significant development linked to the recent unrest at Jawaharlal Nehru University, the Patiala House Court has granted bail to all 14 arrested students. Delhi Police had produced the accused before the court and sought judicial custody, citing allegations of violence during the protest march. However, the court released them on a personal bond of ₹25,000 each, directing them to cooperate with the ongoing investigation. Among those arrested were current JNUSU President Aditya Mishra, former president Nitish Kumar, Vice President Gopika Babu, and Joint Secretary Danish Ali. Police informed the court that over 300 protesters allegedly attempted to march toward India Gate without permission, leading to clashes in which 25 personnel were reportedly injured. Video footage showing scuffles is being examined as part of the probe. Students, meanwhile, have accused police of excessive force and maintain that their protest was centered on administrative accountability. Security has been tightened across the campus, with paramilitary forces deployed as a precaution. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
