In the latest development in the AI Summit protest case, the three accused arrested from Shimla have undergone medical examination in Ambala before being transported to Delhi. The arrests were carried out by Delhi Police after securing transit remand from a local court in Himachal Pradesh. The accused, reportedly linked to Youth Congress and involved in the summit disruption, were taken to Ambala Civil Hospital as part of mandatory legal protocol. Following the medical procedure, the Delhi Police team resumed its journey to the national capital. The case had triggered dramatic scenes overnight in Shimla, where Himachal Pradesh Police initially stopped the Delhi Police convoy, citing lack of prior information and procedural lapses. Heated exchanges took place, and reports suggested that an FIR was registered in Shimla over alleged irregularities, including claims related to abduction and procedural violations. While the immediate standoff appears resolved, political tensions remain high as both Congress and BJP trade charges over the protest incident. Attention now shifts to Delhi, where further legal proceedings against the accused are expected.
