A major fire incident triggered panic on a highway in Dumka, Jharkhand, after a collision between multiple heavy vehicles led to a devastating blaze. According to initial reports, at least one person sustained burn injuries in the accident involving two containers and a coal-laden Hyva truck. The incident occurred when a container carrying cartons of gas lighters from Rampur collided head-on with an empty coal Hyva approaching from the opposite direction. The impact was so intense that the lighter cartons scattered across the road, instantly catching fire and engulfing the vehicles in massive flames. The situation worsened when another container, reportedly loaded with lithium batteries, drove into the affected area and was caught in the blaze. The batteries exploded upon contact with fire, causing loud blasts that echoed across the locality. Within minutes, several heavy vehicles were reduced to ashes. Eyewitnesses claimed there was a delay of nearly an hour before fire tenders reached the scene. Although firefighting operations eventually began, substantial property loss had already occurred. Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident and the alleged delay in emergency response.
