Ghaziabad witnessed a rare but alarming wildlife incident when a leopard was spotted near Green Field Public Schoolin Govindpuram, Kavi Nagar. CCTV footage captured the leopard entering a room adjacent to the school playground before emerging outside, sparking immediate panic among students, staff, and local residents. Authorities quickly cordoned off the school, and students were kept indoors for safety. A combined search operation was launched by local police and forest department teams, with additional personnel arriving from nearby Meerut to track and secure the area. The leopard, known for its agility and hunting skills, is capable of climbing walls and trees, heightening concerns for people in nearby residential areas. Parents and residents expressed fear over the animal’s sudden appearance in a populated area, prompting continuous surveillance and safety measures. Forest officials advised caution and warned locals to avoid venturing near the playground until the leopard is safely captured.
