Global Focus: PM Modi’s Israel Trip Signals Strong Diplomatic Push Amid West Asia Unrest

Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on a significant two-day visit to Israel, marking his first trip since 2017 and nearly a decade after his last standalone bilateral engagement in the country. He will hold extensive discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem, where all official meetings are scheduled. The visit comes at a sensitive time in West Asia, amid ongoing tensions between Israel and Iran and the continuing conflict involving Hamasfollowing the October 7, 2023 attacks. During his 30-hour stay, Modi is expected to address the Knesset and participate in high-level bilateral engagements aimed at strengthening cooperation in technology, defense innovation, counter-terror coordination, and strategic partnerships. Discussions may also explore collaborative frameworks to counter extremism and enhance regional stability. India has consistently advocated dialogue and peace in the region, and this visit is seen as a pivotal diplomatic step with global attention focused on its outcomes.
