Veteran journalist Maria Shriver is mourning the death of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star and collaborator Eric Dane. She has made an emotional revelation about her scheduled plans with Eric Dane, who passed away on February 19 after a battle with ALS. Maria shared how Eric Dane’s passing left her heartbroken.

Maria Shriver had scheduled to meet Eric Dane for lunch

In a post shared on Saturday, February 21, in her newsletter, the 70-year-old activist revealed that she planned to meet up with the late ‘Euphoria’ actor before his death. “Eric and I were scheduled to have lunch two weeks ago, but he wasn’t feeling well that morning, so we rescheduled for next week,” Maria explained. “His passing is another powerful reminder that today is all any of us have. Next week isn’t guaranteed.”

Eric Dane’s memoir releases on November 3

Maria and Eric had been in touch after the actor began working with her publishing imprint on his upcoming memoir, ‘Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments,’ which is being released on November 3. She shared that her team was honored when Eric chose their imprint to publish his memoir. She wrote, “He told me he wanted to write his book to share his story with the world. He wrote it so that his family had something to be proud of.”

The 70-year-old also commended Eric’s advocacy after he opened up about his diagnosis last April.”Eric bravely shared his ALS diagnosis with the world over this past year,” she reflected. “He advocated for increased research and showed up in every way he could to focus our attention on this devastating neurological disease.”Maria Shriver, who is also the ex-wife of Arnold Schwarzenegger, promised her publishing company would do his story justice in the memoir. “Godspeed, Eric,” she wrote in her Feb. 19 Instagram tribute. “It was an honor to know you, and we will honor your story.”In the memoir, Eric Dane reflected on how his sudden diagnosis completely transformed his life and his perspective.
