Kartik Aaryan set to star in zombie movie, directed by Vishnuvardhan - Reports

Kartik Aaryan, busy with multiple projects, is set to star in a zombie film directed by Vishnuvardhan, tentatively starting in July 2026. He plans to finish Anurag Basu’s film by November 2025 and then work on Nagzilla and Captain India, while exploring other film opportunities.

Kartik Aaryan is busy with several projects. He just finished shooting for ‘Tu Meri Main Tera’ with Sameer Vidhwans and an untitled love story by Anurag Basu. Now, he is getting ready to start a comedy called ‘Nagzilla’, directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. The actor will also begin working on ‘Captain India’ with director Shimit Amin in March 2026. Recently, it was said that Kartik is in talks with Vishnuvardhan, who directed SherShaah, for a new movie.Kartik’s interest in a zombie film sparks collaborationAccording to Pinkvilla, Kartik has been on the lookout to do a zombie film for a while now, and that’s when Vishnuvardhan came to his life. The filmmaker has developed a unique zombie film, and Kartik loved the world created by Vishnuvardhan. He has given his green signal to the project and is tentatively looking to take the film on floors in July 2026. July 2026 is far away, but at the moment, the Vishnuvardhan film is slotted tentatively in Kartik’s calendar. He continues to read many other scripts, and is meeting filmmakers to explore a possible collaboration. Kartik is someone who loves to spend time on the film set and is working closely with his team to have a formidable line-up in place. Genre details and upcoming projectsThe exact genre of Vishnuvardhan’s film is still a secret, but it is said to be a zombie story with some thriller parts. Kartik plans to finish shooting Anurag Basu’s film by November 2025. After that, he will start working on Nagzilla and Captain India. He is also discussing two more movies, but their details are not yet known.Zombie films gain popularity in BollywoodThe zombie genre is clearly gaining popularity, with Ranveer Singh also reportedly in discussions with Jai Mehta for a zombie movie. The project is expected to begin filming in the latter half of 2026, after Ranveer completes shooting for ‘Don 3’.
