'O Romeo' box office collections day 9: Shahid Kapoor film crosses Rs 52.6 crore; Sees strong Saturday growth

After just nine days, Shahid Kapoor’s ‘O Romeo’ is making waves at the box office, surpassing an impressive Rs 52 crore. Saturday marked a significant uptick in audience attendance, with many praising the film’s engaging storytelling. In a heartwarming moment, Hrithik Roshan endorsed Kapoor’s performance, labeling him the ‘BEST’ in the romantic genre.

Shahid Kapoor’s latest release ‘O Romeo’ continued its steady run at the domestic box office by crossing the Rs 52 crore mark by the end of Day 9. The film had already collected an estimated Rs 49.25 crore net over its first eight days.Early estimates for Saturday suggested that the film earned around Rs 3.35 crore net on its ninth day and this takes the total to Rs 52.60 crore. The growth on Saturday was notable. According to industry tracker Sacnilk webite, week 1 ended at Rs 47.1 crore. On the second Friday the film collected Rs 2.15 crore and this registers a decline of 30.65 percent.

Saturday occupancy shows a gradual rise

‘O Romeo’ recorded an overall 12.79 percent occupancy for its Hindi 2D version on the last day. Morning shows opened with 6.66 percent occupancy. This grew to 13.02 percent in the afternoon. Evening shows held steady at 12.83 percent, while night shows rose to 18.65 percent.The film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj has benefited from word-of-mouth and consistent support from audiences who enjoy thrillers and emotional dramas. The cast includes Shahid Kapoor, Tripti Dimri, Nana Patekar, Vikrant Massey, Disha Patani, Tamannaah, and Avinash Tiwary in key roles.

Hrithik Roshan calls Shahid ‘BEST’ in the genre

Recently Hrithik Roshan took to his X account to share his thoughts after watching the film. He wrote, “The quirkiness of #ORomeo eventually wins you over. I had fun. @shahidkapoor you do this genre BEST. Too good you are. Go watch it in the theatres guys. Also, that running in circles action was brilliant. @shahidkapoor, you do this genre BEST. Too good you are.”Shahid Kapoor acknowledged Hrithik’s remarks with a heartfelt reply on X. He wrote, “Brother saw you debut like a boss when I was still in college, and you hit me like lightning. Been loving you since your first. This feels special.
