Veteran actor Ashish Vidyarthi recently cleared the air regarding the controversy that erupted during his stint on the reality show ‘The Traitors’. The show, hosted by Karan Johar, brought together 21 celebrities from diverse backgrounds, including popular influencer Apoorva Mukhija, also known as Rebel Kid. A comment made by Mukhija about Vidyarthi using his first name had triggered a debate, with co-contestant Sudhanshu Pandey openly criticizing her on social media. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Vidyarthi explained that his participation in ‘The Traitors’ was a unique experience that gave him a fresh perspective. He admitted that meeting people like Apoorva Mukhija, who belongs to a different generation, made him realize he had been somewhat detached from their world. He described their interaction as a positive learning experience, allowing him to understand the nuances of a younger generation’s communication style and overall persona.

Speaking about the naming controversy, Vidyarthi said he only found out about Sudhanshu Pandey’s criticism after the show. He added, “Her style is like that, you know. The way she talks, her existence, her persona… it’s all like that. She does her thing, and I do mine; that’s fine.”The veteran actor was touched when Apoorva messaged him, expressing her regret. “She sent me a WhatsApp message,” he shared, “saying, ‘Sir, I want to apologize.'” Vidyarthi emphasized that he holds no hard feelings. He called her to accept her apology and praised her as a “wonderful human being” with a lot of dignity, highlighting her devotion to her family.Vidyarthi and Makhija had a heartfelt conversation, where Vidyarthi advised her to “choose her own path” despite external pressures. He also revealed that Mukhija suggested they have lunch one day, to which he agreed with pleasure.
