Amethi police continued their ongoing Operation Langda following a clash in the forests of Karun Village. The encounter involved a suspect wanted for cattle slaughter, who reportedly opened fire on police during a cordon operation based on a tip-off from an informant. Police responded in self-defense, injuring the suspect, identified as Junaid Ahmed, in the leg. He was immediately taken into custody and sent for medical treatment at a nearby hospital. Authorities confirmed that the case had already been registered under relevant sections following the initial cattle slaughter complaint. A forensic team arrived at the scene along the Semrauta route to collect evidence, and further legal proceedings are underway. Senior police officials, including SP Sarvanan T., supervised the operation and formation of a special task force to apprehend the accused swiftly. The police encounter underscores the department’s ongoing vigilance against criminal activity in the Inhuuna police jurisdiction. Investigations are continuing, and authorities are ensuring all statutory procedures are strictly followed.
