In a major development, Delhi Police detained a Bangladeshi national at Indira Gandhi International Airport and later deported him to Bangladesh. The accused, identified as Mehendi Hasan, is alleged to have been involved in the murder of a Hindu police officer in Bangladesh. According to sources, Hasan was accused in the killing of Santosh Saha, a senior police official. He reportedly arrived in Delhi from Finland. Authorities had prior intelligence inputs and alerts through coordination between Indian and Bangladeshi agencies. Upon landing at the Delhi airport, Hasan was intercepted by security agencies. Reports indicate that while his wife was believed to be in Finland, he arrived alone in India. Following verification and questioning, Delhi Police acted in coordination with Bangladeshi authorities. After completing necessary legal formalities, the accused was deported to Bangladesh, where he has been taken into custody for further investigation. The arrest and deportation were part of a joint operation between Indian and Bangladeshi agencies. Authorities continue to monitor cross-border criminal movements closely to prevent such cases in the future.
