Nissan Motor India has launched the Gravite, a seven-seat multi-purpose vehicle, at an introductory price of ₹5.65 lakh (ex-showroom), marking the first model in its new product offensive for the Indian market.

The Gravite is the first of three models planned under Nissan’s renewed strategy, which includes the Tekton C-SUV in mid-2026 and a seven-seat C-SUV in early 2027. The company said the Gravite is manufactured at its Chennai facility and will be sold through an expanding dealer network across tier-I and tier-II cities.

Thierry Sabbagh, Divisional Vice President and President for India, said the launch marks the start of a “sustained growth phase” and reinforces the company’s long-term India commitment. Managing Director Saurabh Vatsa said the model reflects mobility patterns of Indian families and will be produced and developed locally.

Features and specifications

The Gravite offers two- to seven-seat configurations, removable third-row seats, and luggage capacity ranging from 84 litres to 625 litres depending on configuration. It is powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine producing 72PS and 96Nm, available with a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT. Fuel economy is rated at 19.6 km/l (AMT) and 19.3 km/l (MT). Standard safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill-start assist, brake assist and ABS with EBD. A digital instrument cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, wireless charging and front and rear parking sensors are also offered.

A limited Launch Edition adds features including dual dash cams, air purifier, ambient lighting and JBL speakers.
