Maruti Suzuki India Limited has begun sales of its e VITARA battery-electric vehicle, introducing a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) pricing model with an initial cost of ₹10.99 lakh and a battery EMI of ₹3.99 per km. Introductory price remains valid till March 31.

Customers can access details of the e VITARA, take test drives, and place bookings at NEXA showrooms or through the NEXA website with an upfront payment of ₹21,000. The BaaS offer is structured as a dual-loan finance product that separates the cost of the vehicle and battery. The company states that the scheme removes the upfront battery cost, subject to approval by individual financial institutions.

The pricing noted applies to the 49 kWh variant and is based on an assumed daily usage of 60 km. It excludes charging expenses and government-mandated taxes, insurance and levies. The plan is intended for personal-use customers.

In its filing to exchanges, the company said the launch marks the start of sales for the e VITARA and sets out the procedure for customers to access information and book the electric SUV.
