Rajpal Yadav’s brother reacts after the Delhi HC grants him bail

Rajpal Yadav's brother reacts after the Delhi HC grants him bail: 'Our good days are yet to come'

Rajpal Yadav has been granted interim bail by the Delhi High Court until March 18 in connection with his Rs 9 crore debt and cheque bounce case. The temporary relief was allowed so that the actor can attend his niece’s wedding. The court has directed him to mark his presence either physically or through virtual appearance during this period. Now the actor’s brother Chandrapal Yadav reacted to the media. On Monday (February 16), after the court’s decision to grant bail to the actor, his brother told IANS, “We have no complaints. Whatever days we had, our good days are yet to come. That is all we will say for now.”Reports also suggest that after walking out of Tihar Jail, Rajpal Yadav is preparing to address the controversy publicly. His manager, Goldie, confirmed to Hindustan Times that the actor will soon speak out. “He will soon hold a press conference to address the issue and talk about it. It will happen in a day or two. Till then, we cannot say anything more,” he stated. The legal trouble traces back to 2010, when Yadav reportedly borrowed Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to finance his directorial venture, ‘Ata Pata Laapata’. The film failed commercially, and alleged defaults in repayment eventually escalated into prolonged legal proceedings. For those not in the know, in 2018, a magistrate court found Rajpal Yadav and his wife Radha guilty in the cheque bounce case, sentencing him to six months in jail. The conviction was later upheld by a sessions court in early 2019, prompting Yadav to move the Delhi High Court in appeal. In June 2024, the High Court had temporarily stayed his sentence and instructed him to take “sincere and genuine measures” to clear the nearly Rs 9 crore outstanding amount. However, on February 2 this year, the court directed him to surrender, observing that he had repeatedly failed to fulfill his repayment commitments.
