Madhurendra MaluHyundai Motor India on Monday said it has appointed Madhurendra Malu, vertical head – Genesis, as a senior management personnel (SMP) with effect from February 16, 2026.
Malu’s appointment forms part of changes in its senior management structure. He is expected to drive the premium positioning and launch of the Genesis brand in India, the company informed in a regulatory filing.
He brings over two decades of experience in the automobile industry and was previously associated with JSW MG Motor India, where he launched the MG Select luxury retail channel. Prior to that, he led the expansion of Skoda Auto India’s dealer network and held various leadership roles across sales and strategy at Maruti Suzuki.
The company also announced the exclusion of Anuraag Singh, vertical head, from the list of senior management personnel, effective February 16, 2026, due to a change in reporting structure.
Hyundai’s January sales
Hyundai India reported its highest-ever monthly domestic sales in January 2026 at 59,107 units, registering a 9.5 per cent year-on-year increase compared with 54,003 units in January last year.
The automaker also recorded its best-ever total monthly sales at 73,137 units, up 11.5 per cent from the corresponding month of 2025.
The company’s domestic performance was supported by strong demand for its key models. The Venue clocked its highest-ever monthly sales at 12,413 units, while the Aura recorded 7,978 units, also its best monthly performance to date.
