Ranbir Kapoor speaks on ‘Love & War’ DELAY

Ranbir Kapoor speaks on ‘Love & War’ DELAY, confirms film postponement

Ranbir Kapoor confirmed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love & War’ has been delayed. During a live session celebrating his brand ARKS, he revealed ‘Ramayana’ Part One will release first in October 2026. Reports say the film’s massive scale, heavy VFX, and Ranbir’s packed 2026 schedule caused the postponement.

Ranbir Kapoor is excited about the release of his two upcoming films, ‘Ramayana’ part one and ‘Love & War’. While ‘Ramayana’ is set to release around Diwali 2026, fans are waiting for an update on ‘Love & War’, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, amid rumours of a delay. Now, the actor has spoken about the ongoing rumours.

Ranbir Kapoor talks about ‘Love & War’ delay, confirms postponement

The actor recently marked the first anniversary of his lifestyle brand, ARKS, with a live session on the brand’s Instagram handle. While chatting with fans, he addressed the ongoing rumours about ‘Love & War’ being postponed. As reported by Hindustan Times, although the film doesn’t have a confirmed release date yet, the team remains focused on releasing it in 2026. During the live, Ranbir also revealed that his film ‘Ramayana’ part one, scheduled for an October release, will arrive before his next project co-starring Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. As ‘Ramayana’ part one gears up for its October release, there’s a strong possibility that ‘Love & War’ will arrive by the end of 2026, most likely around December, if all goes as planned.

Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Love & War’ delay linked to large-scale production

As reported by Pinkvilla, the main reason for the delay lies in the massive scale of ‘Love & War’. The film is said to include large-scale aerial action sequences that demand extensive visual effects work. Due to the complexity of these scenes, the VFX process is expected to take considerable time. People familiar with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s filmmaking approach point out that his emphasis on visual precision and intricate detailing makes a hurried post-production process unlikely.

Ranbir Kapoor’s packed release schedule

Ranbir Kapoor’s movie schedule is also one of the reasons for the change. His big film ‘Ramayana: Part One’ is expected to be released in November 2026. If ‘Love & War’ came out in the same year, both of his big films would have released too close to each other.
