The star recently received the Lifetime award at the Berlin Film Festival, and while the ceremony went smoothly, prior to it, her thoughts were anything but that. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘Wicked: For Good’ star opened up about what cinema and films have been like for the past years, ever since she began in the industry, and what kind of impact she hopes to leave behind with her work.The star shared that while she had a lot of gratitude for whatever she has been able to do in the past few years, her journey is still not over. “I feel like I’ve not finished my journey. I still have a long way to go,” she added, while expressing how happy she was to get the Lifetime Achievement Award. While talking about her impact, Yeoh shared, “The different things that I have done, I hope, in a small way, shaped cinema, and made a difference for actors who look like me, for women in particular, to be able to cross different cultures and languages.”

Yeoh started off her journey in the entertainment industry with Hong Kong cinema and action films. After she rose to fame and became one of the most well-known actresses in the industry, the opportunity of a lifetime came. She made her Hollywood debut with the iconic James Bond film ‘Tomorrow Never Dies’ in 1997. She played the role of the signature ‘Bond’ girl Wai Lin opposite Pierce Brosnan.Some of her other popular Hollywood works include ‘Memoirs of a Geisha’, ‘The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’, ‘Mechanic: Resurrection’, and ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, to name a few.
