Mrunal says wedding ‘on the cards’ but lays down conditions

Mrunal Thakur says wedding ‘on the cards’ but lays down conditions: 'I will be the first one to announce it'

Mrunal Thakur has revealed that marriage is definitely part of her future plans — but only on her own terms. In a recent interaction with PTI, the actor shared that while a wedding is “on the cards”, she is still waiting for the right person to walk into her life. Her statement comes just days after she dismissed rumours linking her to actor Dhanush. When asked about ongoing speculation surrounding her personal life, Mrunal made it clear that she does intend to get married someday.“Yes, wedding is on the cards and whenever the right day, the right time and the right person walks into my life, I will be the first one to announce it on my social networking sites,” she said.

‘Today, people marry because they want to’

Mrunal further reflected on how perspectives around marriage have evolved over time. According to her, today’s generation prioritises genuine emotional connection over societal expectations.“…Like, earlier, people might have had certain reasons to get married, but today, people marry because they want to, and they want to do it with the right person,” she added.

Dhanush Sparks Fresh Dating Buzz With Mrunal Thakur After His Instagram Comment!

Shuts down Valentine’s Day wedding buzz with Dhanush

Recently, reports claimed that Mrunal had been secretly dating Dhanush and that the two were planning to tie the knot on February 14, Valentine’s Day. The rumours gained traction across social media platforms. However, in an interview with Galatta Plus, when she was asked if she was getting married soon — indirectly hinting at Dhanush — Mrunal firmly denied the claims.“Me? No. I think 14th April is going to be the 1st April… 14th Feb is going to be the 1st April. April Fools’ Day. Because I don’t know who started… First of all, I’ve been quoted, but I never said anything. And they just said, Mrunal said so. I was like, wow, how beautiful. It’s scary,” she said.

How the rumours began

Mrunal and Dhanush were never officially confirmed to be dating. However, speculation about their relationship began circulating last year. Before August, Mrunal attended the wrap-up party of Dhanush’s film Tere Ishk Mein, which first caught public attention. Later, in August, videos and pictures of her welcoming the Tamil star at the premiere of Son of Sardaar 2 — where the two were seen sharing a warm hug — further fuelled dating rumours. For now, Mrunal has made one thing clear: when she decides to get married, fans will hear it directly from her.
