In a major update in the Kanpur Lamborghini case, accused Shivam Mishra has been arrested from his residence in Kanpur and produced before the court after undergoing a mandatory medical examination. Police confirmed that following his arrest from home, he was taken to a government hospital for medical procedures before being brought to the Kanpur District Court. Earlier claims by his father and legal team suggested that Shivam was unwell and not driving the car at the time of the accident. A driver named Manoj was presented in court, but the court rejected that plea, stating that the police investigation identified Shivam as the driver. The court had made it clear that Shivam must personally appear for bail consideration. Police sources indicate that surveillance, CCTV footage, and witness statements formed the basis of the investigation. Senior officials, including the Police Commissioner, took cognizance of the case after public scrutiny. An inspector was also line-attached amid allegations of VIP treatment. Shivam is currently in court custody. The next hearing and arguments on bail will determine the immediate legal course.
