In a major development in the Kanpur Lamborghini case, accused Shivam Mishra, son of a prominent businessman, has been arrested by Kanpur Police. Police Commissioner Raghubir Lal confirmed the arrest. Shivam has been brought to the Kanpur District and Sessions Court. Earlier, his father and legal team had claimed that Shivam was not driving the car at the time of the accident and that a driver named Manoj (also referred to as Mohan) was behind the wheel. A plea presenting the driver in court was filed but was rejected after the court observed that the police investigation did not mention any such driver. Shivam was reportedly brought in an ambulance from Paras Hospital on Bithoor Road. The ambulance driver stated that police intercepted the vehicle on the way to court and then took Shivam into custody. Previously, the family had claimed he was in Delhi for medical treatment. The court had directed that Shivam must personally appear for bail consideration. His arrest now marks a significant turning point in the ongoing investigation.
