Faissal Khan to direct multi-starrer film

Faissal Khan’s Explosive Claim About Aamir Khan

Aamir Khan’s younger brother Faissal Khan stepped into directing with the 2021 psychological thriller ‘Faactory’, where he also played the lead role. In 2022, he appeared in the Kannada crime action film ‘Oppanda’. Recently, after announcing a break from his family, Faissal shared that he is gearing up to direct a new film.Read on to learn more about this latest development.

Faissal Khan shares plan on his upcoming projects

Faissal shared his current plans with IANS, saying, “On the work front, I’m trying to start a film. I’ve written a couple of scripts during the lockdown. Around fourteen actors have already liked the subject. It’s a multi-starrer film.” He continued, “I will be the director, I might do a cameo role in it, but I will be basically directing. Now, I’m moving more towards direction. But if I get some good role, I’ll do it.”

Faissal Khan on getting a monthly allowance from Aamir and taking a break from family

Last week in a press conference, Faissal Khan disclosed that he had been relying on a monthly allowance from Aamir, which initially was Rs 30,000 and gradually increased over time. He mentioned that he worked as a “script doctor” for Aamir Khan Productions in return for this support. However, citing years of alleged mistreatment, Faissal has now cut all ties with Aamir and his family and has given up the allowance.

Allegations of mistreatment and confinement by Faissal Khan

Faissal Khan accused Aamir of mistreating and confining him to a house for an entire year under the pretext that he was suffering from schizophrenia. He further stated that he was admitted to a general hospital ward for 20 days, surrounded by patients with mental health conditions. Faissal held responsible not only Aamir but also their mother Zeenat Hussain, elder sister Nikhat Khan, and her husband Santosh Hegde.

Aamir Khan’s family responds to allegations

However, Aamir and his family responded by appealing to the media for sensitivity, asking that a private family matter not be turned into “salacious, inflammatory, and hurtful gossip.” They issued a statement that reads, “We are distressed by Faisal’s hurtful and misleading portrayal of his mother Zeenat Tahir Husain, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and his brother Aamir. As this is not the first time he has misrepresented these events, we feel it necessary to clarify our intentions, and reaffirm our solidarity as a family. It is important to share that every choice regarding Faisal has been taken collectively as a family, in consultation with multiple medical professionals, and has been based on love, compassion, and a desire to support his emotional and psychological wellbeing. For this reason, we have refrained from publicly discussing the details of a painful and difficult period for our family”.

Family members join in issuing statement

The statement was jointly released by several family members, including Zeenat, Santosh, Nikhat, Aamir, his eldest son Junaid Khan, former wives Reena Datta and Kiran Rao, sister Farhat Datta, brother-in-law Rajiv Datta, niece Seher Hegde, cousins Mansoor Khan and Nuzhat Khan, nephew Imran Khan, sister-in-law Tina Fonseca, as well as niece Zayn Marie and nephew Pablo Khan.

Faissal and Aamir Khan’s past collaborations

Faissal and Aamir Khan last appeared together on screen in the 2000 film ‘Mela’, directed by Dharmesh Darshan, which unfortunately failed at the box office. Before that, Faissal assisted in directing two films featuring Aamir: their late father Tahir Hussain’s 1990 romantic drama ‘Tum Mere Ho’ and Mansoor Khan’s successful 1994 sports drama ‘Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar’.
