Vishal Mishra to debut in Malayalam with Tovino Thomas’ ‘Pallichattambi’; first single ‘Kattuchembakam’ to drop soon

Popular musician Vishal Mishra, known for his Bollywood hits, is venturing into Malayalam cinema with the song ‘Kaattuchembakam’ for Tovino Thomas’s ‘Pallichattambi.’ The single releases February 12, with the film slated for an April 9, 2026, worldwide release. Mishra expressed his delight at this new linguistic and artistic exploration.

Popular musician Vishal Mishra, best known for his works including ‘RRR’, ‘Kabir Singh’, and ‘Haq’, is set to make his debut in Malayalam. He will be crooning the single ‘Kaattuchembakam’ for the upcoming Tovino Thomas starrer ‘Pallichattambi.’ The makers of the film have dropped a promo and announced that the single will be released on February 12. “A promise in every petal. Coming soon to your heart. #Kaattuchembakam – First Single, on Feb 12, 2026,” they said, announcing the release.

Vishal Mishra on Malayalam debut

In the promo, Vishal Mishra expressed his excitement about debuting in Malayalam. “ My first Malayalam song, ‘Kaattuchembakam’, is coming out now. I’m so happy to sing it. It’s a wonderful language. One beautiful Malayalam song has been added and made by Jakes, and I can’t wait for you all to listen to it. Lots of love,” the singer said. What you should know about ‘Pallichattambi’

‘Pallichattambi’ is directed by Dijo Jose Antony, best known for his films ‘Queen’ and ‘Jana Gana Mana’. The upcoming film features Tovino Thomas in the lead role. Kayadu Lohar has roped in as the female lead. Actors Vijayaraghavan, Sudheer Karamana, Baburaj, Vinod Kedamangalam, and Prashanth Alexander, among others, are also part of the cast. Set in the 1950s-60s period, ‘Pallichattambi’ is being released in five languages, including Malayalam. The film is slated for worldwide release on April 9, 2026.

How Malayalam Cinema Quietly Dominated Indian Cinema in 2025

On the technical front, the film’s script has been penned by S Suresh Babu. The cinematography has been handled by Tijo Tomy, and editing is by Sreejith Sarang. Jakes Bejoy will be composing the music for the film. The production design is by Dileep Nath.Earlier this month, the makers wrapped up the shoot. “From the first shot in Thodupuzha, to the final patch shoot across states, the long road of #Pallichattambi comes to an end today.
