Parliament Update: Suspension of Eight Opposition MPs to Continue for Entire Budget Session

A major update has emerged regarding the eight suspended opposition MPs — their suspension will not be revoked despite the end of the deadlock in the Lok Sabha. According to sources, the eight MPs, who were suspended for the entire Budget Session on February 3, will remain suspended throughout the session. Among the suspended members, seven belong to the Congress party and one to the Left (CPI-M). They were suspended for protesting inside the Lok Sabha and allegedly tearing and throwing papers toward the Chair during proceedings. Although it was earlier speculated that their suspension might be reconsidered after normal functioning resumed in Parliament, sources now confirm that no such relief will be granted. The suspended MPs have been staging daily protests at the Makar Dwar entrance of Parliament. They are demanding immediate revocation of their suspension and have vowed to continue their protest until the decision is reversed. Several Congress and opposition leaders, including K.C. Venugopal, K. Suresh, Manickam Tagore, Hibi Eden, and Kumari Selja, have joined in solidarity. The issue continues to create tension both inside and outside Parliament.
