The Kanpur Lamborghini case has taken a new turn after accused Shivam Mishra’s lawyer, Mrityunjay Singh, claimed that Shivam was not driving the car at the time of the accident and that a driver was behind the wheel. The defence argues that since Shivam was not driving, no direct case should be made against him. However, the Police Commissioner stated that preliminary investigation and evidence suggest Shivam Mishra was driving the vehicle during the crash. CCTV footage and viral videos reportedly show Shivam exiting the car after the accident, while his bodyguards helped him leave the scene. Police have already registered an FIR under accident-related charges and stated that strict action will be taken against whoever is found guilty, stressing that the law is equal for all. Despite over 40 hours passing since the incident, Shivam has not been arrested, raising questions about police efficiency and possible VIP bias. The accident injured three people, who have now demanded compensation. The case has also triggered political reactions, with opposition leaders questioning police action while ruling party leaders claim due legal process is underway.
