The Kanpur Lamborghini case has triggered massive outrage, with serious questions being raised over alleged VIP treatment by the police. The incident occurred on 8 February when a Lamborghini car allegedly hit multiple people near Rave Three Chauraha in Kanpur, injuring at least three, including an e-rickshaw driver and a motorcyclist. The accused, Shivam Mishra, son of prominent tobacco businessman KK Mishra, reportedly fled the scene immediately after the crash. Videos that surfaced later show bouncers escorting Shivam Mishra away from the spot, raising suspicions of a planned escape. Initially, the FIR was registered against an unknown person, and Shivam’s name was added only after media pressure mounted. Despite two days passing, the accused has not been arrested, further intensifying allegations of police inaction. CCTV footage from before the accident shows the Lamborghini speeding on the road with a bouncer vehicle following it. The luxury car, worth nearly ₹10 crore, was taken to Gwaltoli police station and controversially covered, prompting criticism over special treatment. Police claim the investigation is ongoing, but the delay has fueled public anger and debate over whether wealth and influence are overpowering the law.
