Candace Owens did not pick a side during the 2026 Super Bowl halftime debate. Instead, she rejected both choices in one blunt post that quickly spread online. The political commentator criticized the official halftime show by Bad Bunny and the conservative-backed alternate show led by Kid Rock, saying neither one worked for her. Her main issue was not music style or politics alone. It was what she felt the night had turned into, two loud camps trying to sell identity instead of entertainment. In a post shared on February 8, 2026, Candace Owens said she was tired of the constant left-versus-right framing and called it boring. The Super Bowl featured Bad Bunny’s Spanish-language performance, while Turning Point USA streamed its own “All-American Halftime Show.” Both shows pulled huge attention, but also strong reactions. For Candace Owens, the problem was simple. She said viewers were being pushed to choose a political label instead of just enjoying the game. Her final line summed up her mood: “The left vs. right grift is actually boring now.”

Kid Rock Or Bad Bunny? Trump’s Preference Shakes Super Bowl Talk

Candace Owens explains why both Bad Bunny and Kid Rock Super Bowl halftime shows failed her

In her post on X, Candace Owens said she “hate[s] both options.” She first pointed to Bad Bunny, saying the official halftime show was presented “without a word of English spoken.” She then turned to the alternate broadcast organized by Turning Point USA, which featured Kid Rock. Candace Owens accused the group of paying advertisers and influencers to make the show look bigger than it was. She claimed the view numbers were pushed to appear record-breaking.Her frustration was not aimed at one side alone. She questioned why entertainment now feels tied to political teams. Ending her post, she asked, “What exactly are we doing here, America?”According to UNILAD, the Turning Point USA event included performances by Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett. The show was promoted as a patriotic alternative to the main broadcast.Meanwhile, BBC reported that Bad Bunny became the first artist to perform an entire Super Bowl halftime show in Spanish. His set focused on Puerto Rican culture and unity and included guest appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. He ended by saying, “God bless America,” and showed the message, “Together, We Are America.”U.S. President Donald Trump criticized the performance on Truth Social, calling it “absolutely terrible.” The BBC also noted that Bad Bunny avoided direct political messages during the show, despite his past comments on immigration.
