Fahadh Faasil has confirmed that there will be a sequel to his 2024 blockbuster Malayalam film ‘Aavesham’. Yes, that’s right. Fahadh Faasil, who appeared at a recent public event, confirmed that the beloved action comedy will have a second part. “Yes, Aavesham 2 is there. That is a question that people ask me everywhere I go,” he said. So, now that the second part is confirmed, when will the film finally hit the theatres? “Hopefully, (in) 2027 or 2028,” the actor added!

What you should know about ‘Aavesham’?

‘Aavesham,’ directed by Jithu Madhavan, told the story of three young men from Kerala, arriving in Bengaluru to pursue engineering. While in college, they get ruthlessly bullied by seniors. To seek revenge, these young men turn to Ranga, an eccentric and powerful local gangster. Fahadh Faasil’s role as the vibrant Ranga impressed the audience. The film collected over Rs 154.8 crore at the worldwide box office collection as per Sacnilk. After its digital release, the film grabbed the eyeballs of cinephiles across the nation. Ranga has a fan base of his own. TOI ranked the film 3.5 and the review reads, “Just when you think Fahadh Faasil – or FaFa – has aced some of the best characters he could possibly get in his career, he goes all out as Ranga in writer-director Jithu Madhavan’s goofball gangster film Aavesham. Jithu Madhavan has already shown that he knows how to do things differently and with style, with his debut horror movie, Romancham. He has delivered another unique comedy with Aavesham.”

What’s next for Fahadh Faasil?

Fahadh Faasil will be next seen in Mammootty and Mohanlal starrer ‘Patriot’. The film is helmed by acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan. During the same event, Fahadh Faasil revealed that he plays the antagonist in ‘Patriot’. “My next Malayalam release is Patriot, in which I am working with Mammootty sir and Mohanlal sir. It is a blessing to be able to share screen space with them. Like everyone else, I am also excited. I play the villain in Patriot,” he said. The film is slated for a theatrical release on April 23.
