Faissal Khan plans to direct a multi-starrer film

Aamir Khan’s brother Faissal Khan plans to direct a multi-starrer film, recalls writing scripts during lockdown: ‘14 actors have already liked the subject’

Actor Faissal Khan, brother of Bollywood star Aamir Khan has looked back at his time in the film ‘Mela’. For him, the movie was more than just a project, it was a turning point that taught him many things about cinema and gave him the chance to grow as an actor.

‘Mela’ proved to be a learning ground

Talking about his experience, Faissal called ‘Mela’ a proper learning curve. In an interview with IANS, he said, “The learning was very good. I got to work and learn a lot. So it was a very good experience. And the hard work I did in the film, I still get the praise of it. People still know me from the film. It also became a big hit on TV. So it was a good experience, it is God’s grace.”

Faissal Khan plans to direct his own film soon

While ‘Mela’ was about learning the ropes as an actor, today Faissal is preparing to take a step behind the camera. He shared that he wrote scripts during the lockdown and is now working towards making them into films. He told IANS, “On the work front, I’m trying to start a film. I’ve written a couple of scripts in lockdown. Around fourteen actors have already liked the subject. It’s a multi-starrer film.”Faissal has big plans for the project. When asked if he would act in it as well, he made it clear that his focus is on direction. “I will be the director, I might do a cameo role in it but I will be basically directing. Now, I’m moving more towards direction. But if I get some good role, I’ll do it,” he explained.

Early allowance given by brother Aamir Khan

Looking back at his past, Faissal had earlier revealed how his elder brother Aamir Khan supported him financially at one point. He shared with IANS, “I started with getting INR 30,000 and gradually it increased. I also worked with Aamir as a script doctor for a fee.” This arrangement gave him some stability while he was finding his place in the industry.

Faissal opened up on family politics

But Faissal has also spoken openly about his struggles. He claimed that he has suffered because of family politics. He even linked his personal feelings with the story shown in director Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s hit film ‘Animal’.
