A tragic accident struck the famous Surajkund International Crafts Fair in Faridabad, Haryana, on Saturday when a crowded amusement ride suddenly collapsed, leading to the death of a senior police officer and injuries to several others. The deceased has been identified as Police Inspector Jagdish Prasad, who lost his life at the spot after the structure of the swing gave way without warning. According to preliminary information, 26 people were seated on the ride when it malfunctioned and broke apart mid-operation. Twelve people sustained injuries and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals, where they are currently undergoing treatment.
