Serious allegations have been leveled by Purnia MP Pappu Yadav following his arrest by Patna Police in a 31-year-old property-related case. According to the allegations, Pappu Yadav had rented a house in Patna three decades ago and is accused of illegally occupying the property and running an office from there. Acting on a court order, police reached his residence late at night to execute the arrest. Pappu Yadav strongly objected to the timing and manner of the arrest, claiming his life was in danger. He alleged that police personnel arrived in civil clothes during the night, treating him like a hardened criminal, and even stated that he feared he could be shot. He further claimed that a warrant copy was not immediately shown, leading to heated arguments between police and his supporters, who protested fiercely outside his residence. Despite resistance, police forcibly arrested him. Pappu Yadav has dismissed the case as a mere excuse, alleging that he is being targeted for raising his voice in support of a NEET aspirant. His supporters have termed the arrest a political conspiracy, accusing the government of suppressing those fighting for justice, escalating political tensions across Bihar.
