Breaking News: Lok Sabha Adjourned Till Noon After Uproar Over Breach of House Decorum Row in Parliament

The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12:00 noon shortly after proceedings began today, following intense disruption and protests in the House. The Speaker expressed strong concern over the incident that took place a day earlier, stating that the conduct of opposition members, who allegedly moved close to the treasury benches and surrounded the Prime Minister’s seat, was against the dignity and traditions of Parliament. Emphasising that maintaining decorum is a collective responsibility of both the ruling party and the opposition, the Speaker noted that repeated breaches make it extremely difficult to conduct House proceedings in an orderly manner. The disruption comes amid continued turmoil during the Budget Session, which has witnessed frequent adjournments due to protests and counter-allegations. Opposition parties have been demanding an opportunity for Rahul Gandhi to speak, claiming he is being deliberately prevented from addressing the House. Earlier, references made to a book by former Army Chief General Manoj Naravane had also triggered heated exchanges. Due to the ongoing uproar, the Prime Minister was unable to deliver his reply to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to the President’s Address. This marks the fourth consecutive day where parliamentary business has been severely affected, raising concerns over the smooth functioning of the legislature.
