As the Islamic calendar turns toward the most sacred month of the year, residents across the Emirates are preparing for a unique “Winter Ramadan.” According to the Emirates Astronomical Society, the crescent moon of Ramadan 1447 AH is predicted to be visible on the evening of February 18, making Thursday, February 19, 2026, the likely first day of fasting. Ibrahim Al-Jarwan, Chairman of the Society, notes that this year’s fasting hours will be remarkably pleasant, starting at approximately 12 hours and 45 minutes and gradually increasing as the month progresses toward spring.

To help you plan your worship, family gatherings, and work schedule, here is the comprehensive daily timetable for the UAE. Note that these timings are based on astronomical calculations for Dubai; residents in Abu Dhabi should add approximately 4 minutes, while those in Fujairah can subtract about 4 minutes.

Laylat al-Qadr and Eid Al Fitr

The final ten days of Ramadan are the most spiritually intense. Laylat al-Qadr (The Night of Power) is traditionally sought on the odd-numbered nights, with the 27th night (expected on March 16/17, 2026) being a focal point for late-night prayers at landmarks like the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Following the completion of the 29 or 30 days of fasting, the Moon Sighting Committee will convene to announce Eid Al Fitr, which is astronomically predicted for Friday, March 20, 2026. This will mark the beginning of a long weekend of celebration, gift-giving, and family gatherings across the nation.

Conclusion

As we tuck this timetable into our daily lives, let’s remember that Ramadan is not merely a race against the sun, but a journey toward the soul. In the words of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH): “Ramadan is the month whose beginning is mercy, its middle is forgiveness, and its end is freedom from fire.”This 2026 season offers a rare gift, a cool, winter backdrop for our devotion. Whether you are breaking your fast with a single date at a crowded community Iftar or standing in the quiet rows of a neighborhood mosque for Taraweeh, the impact remains the same: it is a time to heal, to forgive, and to reconnect with what truly matters. May this holy month nourish your heart as much as it disciplines your body. Go to Source
