Snoop Dogg’s granddaughter, Codi Dreaux, has died at just 10 months old, her mother Cori Broadus has confirmed. The baby passed away on Monday, January 26, just 20 days after being discharged from hospital following months in neonatal intensive care. Cori, 25, shared the news on Instagram with a photo of herself holding her daughter, writing: “Monday, I lost the love of my life. My Codi.”
A fragile start and a long stay in intensive care
Codi Dreaux was born prematurely in February 2025, after Cori went into labour at just 25 weeks. At the time, Cori openly documented the emotional and medical challenges surrounding the birth, sharing updates from the NICU with her followers.

Announcing her daughter’s arrival, Cori wrote: “The princess arrived at 6 months, I’ve cried and cried, I’ve compared and compared, blaming myself because I wasn’t able to give her all that she needed. But no matter what God always shows me that He got me! Baby girl came at 25 weeks today and she’s the best!! Thank You God for getting me this far.” Codi remained in hospital for several months. Earlier this month, Cori shared a video confirming her daughter had finally been allowed home, writing on Instagram: “She’s home. Thank you for every prayer, every message, every ounce of love. God heard them all.” Friends, relatives and followers later expressed shock that the baby died less than three weeks after returning home. One tribute reposted by Cori read: “20 days later?! dawg I’m sick.” A family friend who worked as a nurse and had cared for Codi also shared a deeply personal message: “Being a nurse has it’s ups and downs, and this is the biggest down I ever experienced. It was such a pleasure being my babygirl’s nurse, I gave her one last bath, told her I loved her and didn’t even know I was getting her ready for heaven.”
Tributes from her parents and quiet support from Snoop Dogg
Cori shares Codi with her fiancé, Wayne Deuce, who also posted a tribute to their daughter on Instagram, writing: “I been the saddest since u left me Codi Dreaux. But I know u at peace. Daddy will always love you.”

Snoop Dogg has not issued a public statement, but he shared a family photo of Cori on Instagram alongside folded-hands and shining-heart emojis. Fans and followers filled the comments with condolences and prayers for the Broadus family.

Cori is Snoop Dogg’s youngest child with his wife, Shante Broadus. She has spoken previously about her own complex medical history, including being diagnosed with lupus at the age of six and suffering a stroke in early 2024. During her pregnancy, Cori later revealed she developed HELLP syndrome, haemolysis, elevated liver enzymes and low platelets, which led to an emergency C-section and contributed to the high-risk nature of the birth.
“A sweet little firecracker”
Despite the medical challenges, Cori often spoke warmly about her daughter’s personality during her time in hospital. When Codi was six months old, she told Us Weekly: “Codi just has so much character. The doctors and nurses always tell me: ‘Your baby got her mind. She’s smart. She’s alert. She knows what’s going on. She can hear. She can see. Yeah, the circumstances are not what you thought they would be, but it could be worse.’ That girl is just a sweet little firecracker.”
