Tom Cruise abandons GBP 35 MILLION London home after robbery; actor concerned about security in area

Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise has reportedly moved out of his luxury London apartment following a robbery in the area. Reports on Monday state that the action star, has left his swanky flat in the upscale neighbourhood in Knightsbridge amid growing concerns over safety in the area.

According to a report on The Daily Mail, the’Mission: Impossible’ actor left the pad, worth an estimated GBP 35 million that overlooks Hyde Park, owing to a series of robberies in the neighbourhood, including a coordinated daylight robbery at a nearby luxury watch store and a boutique, located close to his home. Cruise, who is known to enjoy taking regular walks in the area, had reportedly grown concerned about the safety in the area, which he allegedly felt ‘had declined over the past year or two’.

Tom Cruise moves back to US

Although Cruise has not publicly commented on the reports, reports further claim that he has now ditched his flat and retreated back to the US.Over the years, Cruise has not only made an impression on people in the UK but also on the film industry. Last year, he was awarded a BFI fellowship by the British Film Institute for his work as a producer and his contribution to the UK film industry.

Hollywood stars move to UK

His decision to leave the UK comes at a time when fellow Hollywood stars have ditched their swanky US homes for a ‘quiet’ life in the UK. Hollywood stars, including Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, Beyonce and Jay-Z, John Legend and Chrissy Teigen, have moved to London and the surrounding Cotswolds. This move came following US President Donald Trump’s reelection.
