A political controversy emerged in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, when local MLA supporters reportedly confronted state cabinet minister, Swatantra Dev Singh. Videos from the incident showed a heated verbal exchange between the minister and local representatives. Today, Swatantra Dev Singh responded for the first time, dismissing the confrontation as insignificant and stating that no incident occurred with him personally. He refrained from commenting on remarks made by opposition leader Akhilesh Yadav, urging officials and media to refer to the district officer’s official statement instead. The minister emphasized that his focus remains on developmental work, specifically highlighting the ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission, under which he is visiting 36 villages to oversee water supply initiatives. Swatantra Dev Singh reiterated that administrative processes are being followed, and any allegations of disruption or political targeting are misleading. He stressed that his priority is delivering results to the people rather than engaging in political controversies. Despite the tensions and public scrutiny, the minister maintained a calm stance, underscoring that governance and development are paramount over political debates. The incident reflects underlying political friction in the region but has not deterred Singh from executing his administrative responsibilities.
