The film crossed Rs 800 crore at the domestic box office and made more than Rs 1200 crore worldwide. Fans were in for a surprise as Netflix announced the film’s release on OTT. While it began streaming and clearly, people were not ready for it, fans were disappointed to see the censored version of the movie. ‘Dhurandhar’ had a theatrical runtime of 3 hours and 34 minutes, which has now been shortened to 3 hours and 25 minutes for its OTT release. This means nearly nine minutes of footage have been removed from the OTT version. According to a latest report by Bollywood Hungama, a source has been quoted saying that Netflix went ahead with the edits on its own, without seeking approval from director Aditya Dhar.
Meanwhile, another report by Pinkvilla said that the ‘Dhurandhar’ team submitted a completely unaltered version of the film for its OTT premiere. “Dhurandhar makers submitted a version with no edits or cuts for its Netflix release. The version delivered to the streaming platform fully complies with streamer’s mandates and requirements,” a source was quoted by the platform. The film was offered to the streamer without any trims, effectively quashing rumours about a so-called “censored” OTT cut. “The production team has gone as per the mandate and requirement of Netflix,” the source further added according to the report.’Dhurandhar 2′ is locked for a major Eid 2026 release on March 19, 2026. The sequel will debut simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, making it a five-language pan-India and global release.
