Breaking News: Violence Erupts at BHU as Students from Two Hostels Clash Over Old Dispute

Tension escalated at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) after students from two different hostels clashed over an old dispute, leading to chaos inside the campus. What reportedly began as a verbal argument soon turned into a violent confrontation, with both groups engaging in aggressive behavior. There were reports of stone-pelting and vandalism, which created panic among students and staff in the university premises. As soon as the incident was reported, a large contingent of police was deployed inside the BHU campus to bring the situation under control. To ensure security and prevent further escalation, police conducted a search operation in the hostels and surrounding areas throughout the night. Students were questioned as part of the investigation, and additional security forces were stationed at sensitive locations within the campus. No official confirmation has been made regarding any serious injuries, though the clash caused significant unrest. University authorities appealed to students to maintain peace and avoid spreading rumors. An internal inquiry has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the clash and identify those responsible. At present, the situation on campus is said to be under control, but police deployment continues as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order.
