Breaking News: Public Viewing of Mortal Remains Begins at 9 AM at Katewadi Farm

The last rites of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar are being held today in Baramati with full state honors. His mortal remains have been brought to his ancestral home at Katewadi Farm, where public viewing for last respects began at 9:00 AM. From Katewadi Farm, the final procession will proceed to Vidya Pratishthan, where the cremation is scheduled for 11:00 AM. Thousands of supporters, party workers, and citizens have gathered to pay tribute to the veteran leader. The Maharashtra government’s entire cabinet will attend, along with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other senior political figures. Earlier, his mortal remains were placed at Vidya Pratishthan for night-time viewing, allowing leaders and citizens to offer their respects. Ajit Pawar, affectionately called “Ajit Dada,” began his political journey from Katewadi, learning under his uncle, and rose to become Maharashtra’s Deputy CM multiple times while also managing the state finance portfolio. Known for his administrative acumen and decisive leadership, he was respected across the bureaucracy and public alike. Supporters from Baramati and nearby villages have lined up to see him one last time, with slogans such as “Ajit Dada Amar Rahe” echoing across the crowd. Heavy security and traffic arrangements are in place to ensure the procession and funeral proceed smoothly. Maharashtra has declared three days of state mourning in his memory.
