NEW DELHI: A plane carrying Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar crashed in Baramati on Wednesday. Pawar was on board with 4 others and all on board died in the crash.Videos from the the crash site showed a fire with wreckage all around. The visuals showed charred debris.
The plane, travelling from Mumbai to Baramati, crash-landed at around 8.45am, according to initial reports. Pawar, who was heading to Baramati for a Zilla Parishad election rally, was on board with two crew members and two staff, including a personal security officer. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation said preliminary information suggested there were no survivors.Visuals from the scene show heavy damage to the aircraft, with emergency responders and police securing the area. Pawar had been in Mumbai a day earlier for a state infrastructure meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Further details are awaited.
